For today's Business Column, I share the book that made the biggest impression on me in the last 6 months. After having greatly appreciated "The Everything Store", Brad Stone's first book explaining the birth of Amazon from 1994 to 2013, the author is back to document the totally phenomenal growth the online giant has experienced in the last 8 years.

To give you a good idea of the difference in growth that the organization has experienced, we need only look at some pretty telling metrics.

Amazon in 2013:

Market capitalization at 189 billion

Revenues of 74 billion dollars

Profits of 274 million dollars

Number of employees at 117,000

Value of Jeff Bezos' fortune: 27.2 billion

If we look at 2021 now;

Market capitalization of 1 trillion 840 billion

Revenues for the year 2020 of 386 billion

Net profits of 21 billion dollars

Number of employees: 1.3 million

Value of Jeff Bezos' fortune of 209 billion

If we analyze these numbers more closely, we can notice that Jeff Bezos' current fortune is more significant than the company's value in 2013. One more reason to talk about the total evolution of the company in the last few years.
