The term "pivot" is one of the most commonly used terms in entrepreneurship. It is often used when referring to an organization that needs to review its business model in order to adapt to a new reality.
Now, it is much easier to plan a pivot than to actually execute it. It takes courage, perseverance and speed to quickly change the direction of a business.
My guest today, Kevin Pillu, co-founder of Sportera events, which he started with his brother Gary, will tell us about the unimaginable challenges that he has been facing over the past few months.
To give you an idea, the Pillu brothers watched their company collapse almost overnight, right before their eyes and without being able to do anything about it. Covid-19 had the effect of a tidal wave on their Mud Girl obstacle race and forced them to completely pivot their business.
As of July 14, 2020, it can be said that they have successfully overcame this challenge. In this 40-minute interview, you'll see how Kevin and Gary managed to create Quebec's first drive-in comedy festival and sell 4,000 tickets to the first edition of this event.
